What is the minimum deposit required to open an account?
The minimum deposit required to open a Mini account is $50 AUD.
The minimum deposit required to open a Standard account is $1,000 AUD.
The minimum deposit required to open a Pro account is $10,000 AUD.
What’s the maximum leverage you offer?
It depends on the equity range of your account.
Mini account: Up to 400:1
Standard account: Up to 200:1

How do I know if my account has been opened?
Once your account is opened, you will receive an email confirmation. This email includes your log in credentials, account funding options, and instructions on how to access your account. Please contact email@example.com if you have not received your email confirmation.
What deposit methods do you have?

What is the minimum amount I can deposit?
You can deposit from as low as 50 units of account base currency (i.e 50 AUD)
What currencies are available to deposit with?
You can deposit with AUD, USD, and GBP natively. Through our various third-party payment gateways (Neteller and Skrill), you can transact a multitude of currencies (bitcoin included) into AUD, USD, and GBP to fund your account.
How do I fund my trading account?
To deposit funds, log in to your account through the client portal, select “Manage Funds” and click “Deposit Funds”.
When will my funds be posted to my account?
The time it takes for a deposit to post to your account will depend on the method in which it is sent.
Domestic Bank Wire: 1 to 2 business days (estimated)
International Bank Wire: 2 to 5 business days (estimated)
Others: 1st deposit requires approval by our back office. All other subsequent deposits are instant.
How do I withdraw funds from my account?
Log in to your account through the client portal, select “Manage Funds” and click “Withdraw Funds. Then fill out the form with your personal details and submit your withdrawal request.
How long does it take for a withdrawal to be completed?
All withdrawal requests are processed Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm (Sydney Time). Requests submitted after 3pm (Sydney Time) will be processed the following day. Please note that processing time is subject to beneficiary bank processes.
Do you charge any deposit or withdrawal fee?

No, we don't charge any account inactivity/keeping fees.
Can I trade during Economic and Geo Political news releases?
Rakuten does allow trading during the news events. However, we wish to warn clients of the dangers associated with such. Namely, during major geo political news releases, markets may become extremely volatile. Due to potential price gaps, Rakuten Securities Australia cannot guarantee fills during news releases. Orders may be filled at the next available price and will not always be filled at the requested price or stop. News releases may also cause wider spreads than are typically seen during normal trading hours. We advise traders to use discretion when trading during the news. Please be advised that due to the volatility of price fluctuations during the news, it is possible to see a delay in execution due to the additional verification necessary for each trade.
Does RSA have any trade restrictions?
RSA allows most types of trading, including Expert Advisors (EA), scalping and hedging.
How close to the current price can I place Stop and Limit orders?
There is no difference from a market price required when placing Stop and Limit orders. You may place an order 0 pips from the market price.
Can I use EA (Expert Advisors) and robot trading?
Yes, you can. RSA allows all Expert Advisors.
Can I have multiple trading accounts with RSA?
Yes, you can have multiple trading accounts with different account types or currencies. You can do so by logging in and adding an account through the client portal.
MetaTrader Trading Platform
Where do I download the MetaTrader application?
You can download the RSA’s MetaTrader application on our MetaTrader Platform page. A desktop, iOS and Android application are available.
How do I log in to my MT4 live trading account?
Once you complete the application process and fund your account, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with your MetaTrader application log in credentials. To log in, go to File -> Log in. Enter your user ID and password, and click drop-down list to choose “RakutenSecuritiesAu-live”.
How do I view all of the available currency pairs?
Move your cursor over a currency pair located in the market watch, right-click your mouse and select “Show All”.
How do I place an order on the MetaTrader platform?
In the “Market Watch” section, highlight your desired currency and either right click or press “F9” on your keyboard for the order window to appear. Enter the Volume (lot size) and click either “Sell” or “Buy” for an instant order. For a “Pending Order”, enter the type of order and the desired price. “Stop Loss” and “Take Profit” values may be entered if desired. Then click “Place” to submit your order.
How do I edit an order on the MetaTrader platform?
In the “Terminal” section, locate the open order and right click on it. The order window will appear. Enter values for the “Take Profit” and “Stop-Loss” and then click “Modify”. Note that fields that are greyed out cannot be changed.
Why do I see “No connection” or “Invalid Account” message?
“No connection” -- Please see the setting of your firewall or anti-virus and add MT4 platform as an exemption or turn of anti-virus and firewall. Also, please ensure you are connected to the internet.
“Invalid Account” – Please check the e-mail with your MetaTrader application log in credentials to make sure you entered the correct account number and password. And you may have to check you have chosen the right server name: Rakuten Securities Australia.
How do I fix the 'Waiting for Update' message on my charts?
Left click on the currency pair you require in the market watch and drag it into one of the blank charts. Alternatively, right click any currency pair and select “Chart Window”.
Can I change the Chart time on MT4?
The chart time can’t be changed on your MT4 and is set to GMT-1.
How do I view my account history reports?
Locate the “Terminal” section in MetaTrader click on the “Account History” tab. Right click on any field and choose the time period for the report. Right click again and choose “Save as Report” or “Save as Detailed Report”. Name the file and save to your desired location. The report will then appear in your default browser.
How do I view my Experts logs?
Locate the “Terminal” section and click on the “Experts” tab. Note that this tab is only visible if Expert Advisors (EAs) are in use on the account. Right-click any field and click “Open” to view the log files. File names are in yyyy/mm/dd (year/month/date) format. Double click any log to open. Files can be renamed and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or to the 3rd party provider of the EA for any support issues.
How do I access the Rakuten Securities Australia MT4 on my mobile device?
The Rakuten Securities Australia Mobile Platform contains all of the functionality of the desktop application with the added ability to trade on the go. Rakuten Securities Australia offers the convenience of managing your Forex trading accounts from your Android and iOS device on our MetaTrader Platform page. Once you have downloaded and installed your mobile app, your login is the same and make sure you connect to “RakutenSecuritiesAu-live”.
Is hedging offered on the MetaTrader platform?
Yes, hedging is a trading feature available on the MetaTrader platform.
How do I change my MetaTrader password?
Locate the “Navigator” section in MetaTrader and click on the “Accounts” tab. Right click the account you want to change password and click “Change Password”. Type in your current password and choose “change master password”, then enter your preferred password in “new password” and “Confirm” section. Click “Ok” to confirm your change.
What is spread?
In forex, the spread is the difference between the BID (Sell) and the ASK (Buy) price.
Where can I find the swap rates?
You can find Swap rates within MT4 platform, right click on an instrument under “Market Watch” and select 'Symbols'. Click “Properties for a particular trading symbols and you will find the swap rates in the pop-up window.
What’s the commission for trading with RSA?
Rakuten Securities Australia Pro accounts feature spreads from 0.0 pips with an AUD 5.00 commission per 100k traded.
What’s RSA margin call level?
RSA margin call level is 40%. This means that you will receive a margin call when your Equity is 40% of the margin required on your open positions.
What is RSA margin stop out level?
RSA margin stop out level is 20% this means that if your Free Margin falls below 20% then your positions will be automatically closed. MetaTrader 4 will automatically close in order of the largest loosing position to the smallest.
How long can I keep my positions open for?
You can keep your positions open for an indefinite period of time.
What is the minimum lot size that I can trade?
Mini account: 0.01 (Micro) Lot
Standard account: 0.1 (Mini) Lot
Pro account: 0.1 (Mini) Lot
What are the trading hours for trading forex?
Forex trading is available from 8am Monday morning AEST and remains open until 7am Saturday morning (00:00 – 24:00 server time). This changes with daylight savings in Australia.
What are the symbols for Spot Gold and Spot Silver?
The symbol for Spot Gold is XAU/USD and Spot Silver is XAG/USD.
What are the trading hours for trading Spot Gold and Spot Silver?
Spot Gold and Spot Silver trading is available from 23:00 GMT Sunday through 22:00 GMT Friday. Spot Metal pricing and availability are extremely sensitive to market conditions and activity between 21:00 and 23:00 GMT. Spot Gold and Spot Silver trading also follow CME holiday closures.
Is there an expiry date on Spot Gold and Spot Silver contracts?
There is no expiry date when trading Spot Gold and Spot Silver. As long as you maintain the required margin, your position will remain open until you choose to close it. As with Forex positions, open Gold and Silver positions automatically roll forward to the next day’s value date following the close of trading at 22:00 GMT.
Can I hold positions over the weekend and major holidays?
Yes, you can.
What is one lot of Spot Gold and Spot Silver equal to?
One lot or one contract of Spot Gold is equal to 100 troy ounces. One contract of Spot Silver is equal to 5,000 troy ounces.
